RHUBARB CAKE

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. rhubarb, chopped
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients
alternately with milk and vanilla. Add rhubarb and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x
13 inch pan. Top with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake
30 to 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Morris
