OATMEAL CAKE

1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
Pour boiling water into oatmeal. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat
well. Add vanilla. Add oatmeal mixture to rest of batter. Sift flour,
cinnamon and soda and add to all. Mix well and bake in 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan at
350 degrees for 35 minutes. Brown sugar frosting is good on this cake.
